RESPONSIBILITES OF THE HIRER – Updated 13 May 2025
Kingswood Village Hall is a multi-user community building run by the volunteers of the Kingswood Village Community Association. We do not provide a service to clear up the Hall between different hirers. If you hire our Hall it is your responsibility to ensure that:
- the Hall, its equipment and facilities are kept safe, secure and undamaged throughout your hire period.
- you have any necessary licences for your event eg for the sale of alcohol.
- you have appropriate policies for the safety and wellbeing of people attending your event.
- people attending your event know what to do in the event of a fire or other need to evacuate the Hall. Activate the fire alarm, leave the building, assemble by the mural in the car park, call 999.
At the end of your hire period it is your responsibility to ensure that:
- all furniture and equipment used is returned to its correct storage location. Notices with photographs give instructions.
- all floors are swept or vacuumed. Cleaning equipment is in the designated cupboard in the Foyer.
- if any substances have been spilt on the floor, these areas must be washed.
- gas supply to the oven/hob is turned off, if used.
- the boiling water heater is switched off, if used.
- all external doors and windows are closed and locked.
- all lights are switched off.
- the front door is correctly locked.
You should leave the Hall in the state that you would like to find it.
